Small formats, laid diagonally? The 90s apparently called ?

Absolutely, I do value that! The joint pattern is an integral part of the visual design and at least as important as the surface of the tile itself. That’s why we hired a professional for it.

Small-cut tiles and poor joint patterns are of course acceptable if you do it yourself and simply cannot do better, or if you knowingly hire amateurs.

No, the same size format as on the wall, laid diagonally over the floor area, and only in the quasi separation strip at the edge of the floor switch to the smaller format. This "alternative" was, I believe, not meant here, but rather "joint cutting" in the interpretation of the term as "uniform spacing of the joint grid" with joints continuing across the wall-to-floor bend.

With my question, I meant whether you would prioritize a consistent joint alignment from the wall to the floor tile and accept some "smaller" floor tiles for that. In other words, due to the joint cut, a tile in front of the shower would be 120x35cm, thus cutting the 120x60 tile into smaller pieces.

Or whether you would prefer to have the full 120x60cm tile in front of the shower but without a uniform joint alignment with the wall tiles.

What size are the wall tiles?

In a case like this , I would quite certainly prioritize the uniform grout lines on the wall and floor. 120x35 is not a tiny cut piece. If it were 120x2 or 120x10, that would be different.

It is the same tile on the wall and floor. Size 120x60cm.
