Do you value the joint cut?

My suspicion is rather that the tile format does not fit this room. That the joint cut does not fit is a symptom, not the cause. For large formats, you need large rooms and surfaces; otherwise, it just ends up being chopped. Doesn't your tile also come in other formats, so you could use a different one on the floor?

We did not lay the tiles with the [fugenschnitt] and this does not have a negative effect at all, as the joints are hardly visible (concrete look and grey joints). It was important to us, for example, that the tile is centered directly at the sink and that it also fits at the bathtub.

Best regards

We first tried the whole thing with smaller tiles (60x60). But there we had to cut everywhere...

With the large 120x60 tiles, it’s not quite as noticeable. Sometimes you have a 90cm tile instead of a 60cm and a 30cm one.

We have wild jointing on the floor, looks good and I also do not care about continuous joints from wall to floor.

Where possible, we placed value on neat joint cutting. Where it definitely didn’t work, or would have resulted in visually prominent elements being covered with trimmed tiles or a non-harmonious pattern, we prioritized these areas. It must be said, especially in the large bathroom, we have many problematic corners. This results in a layout that is pleasing to us but difficult from a craftsmanship perspective. I would probably deliberately break the alignment of wall and floor tiles. For example, by laying the floor tiles diagonally and, if necessary, inserting a strip of smaller formats laid parallel to the edges of the room at the edge – here most likely 30/30 – in between. In doing so, I would even prefer to choose the floor darker than the walls, but my suggestion as stated above also applies to areas of the same tone.
