Do you recommend liquid woodchip wallpaper (paintable wallpaper)?

I have already read several times about liquid woodchip wallpaper. It can simply be painted with a roller. I could imagine this well for our ceiling in the new building. Are there any experiences from the forum here?

I saw it at an acquaintance's, who used this paint above the tiles in the bathroom. The most important thing is what they told me: stir well so that the particles mix evenly. I can't say anything about the application; her father did that.

I can't recommend it... if you want something different on the wall, you can expect about a week per room to get the stuff off the walls...

What does it save? Primer is necessary anyway. It also needs to be spackled. Just paint with pure dispersion paint, or stick on a woodchip wallpaper and paint that. Karsten

I have often read that people apply paint directly onto the wall. I wonder why this is done, to save money? But that could backfire. As has already been written, it will probably be a rather lengthy process to remove it from the wall again; in the extreme case, the wall might even have to be replastered. Therefore, I would also suggest first sticking [Raufaser] or [Makulaturtapete] onto the wall and then painting it.

I have already worked with this stuff in a 14sqm room. And I can say, it’s a complete mess and you have to paint twice until it looks halfway decent. I would advise against it.
