Hello everyone. We want to redesign our kitchen, dining room, and living room. We already have various ideas for flooring, kitchen design, and also wall decoration, but we need someone with experience to bring some coherence into it and to visualize our ideas for us (3D CAD). I am handy and also enjoy commissioning and coordinating craftsmen, so I do not want to hand over that part. We are rather looking for someone who works out the concept with us and then hands over the plan for implementation. I have read the definition of an interior architect as well as that of an interior decorator, but neither of these professions applies to my situation. Who can help me in my case?

You are in good hands with an interior designer :) Most of those who have completed this degree work freelance and are very open to individual agreements ([Pauschale absprechen]) Another tip: find yourself a homestager! They are usually interior designers, but we live in an era where freelancers always have to reinvent themselves on the market :) Greetings

This is probably because, strictly speaking, you need both service providers. You _could_ also commission, among others, a Feng Shui consultant; it just depends on your preferences. I see home stagers less so here; they "spruce up" properties that are to be sold; perhaps as tip providers. If you only want to have your ideas implemented in a drawing, look around the market for free room design programs; for example SketchUp and similar programs.

Sorry, you are basically right there, but also completely wrong again. See my first post. I have already dealt with the industry :)

Best regards, Yvonne

Thank you for the quick responses. Then I will inquire with an interior architect. Interior decorators probably don't go deep enough and also seem to be more interested in the execution, which I actually want to do myself or at least commission. According to Wikipedia, the definition of:

https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Home_Staging

is the beautification (cleaning, furnishing, accessories, etc.) of properties for rent without major or deeper interventions and thus not what I am looking for. Yvonne, do you know another definition? What I am looking for is someone who deals with color, shape, and design of floors, walls, ceilings, kitchen, doors, fireplace, room dividers, etc. We will take care of furnishing as well as selecting and placing accessories ourselves. It seems that the interior architect is the right contact person for this.

I repeat myself: Interior designers cannot survive in this economy. Then they move with the times and offer homestaging. Homestagers apply exactly the same knowledge they learned either in their interior design studies or acquired through courses. Space, aesthetics, surfaces, color... ... it doesn't matter whether you want to continue living in your house yourself or sell it – design is the focus.

Best regards, Yvonne
