Thank you i_b_n_a_n for your response. Regarding the topic gablok, there are two German websites, one of which is actually partly rather awkwardly formulated, the other is the German distributor and is well translated there with many relevant information.

Currently, the question is whether €650/sqm for the wall construction is relatively cheaper than, for example, houses from Fjorborg and co. They advertise a house price between €1200 (building materials) and €2700 (turnkey).

Which trades do you want to carry out yourselves? Just the "masonry" with these blocks, or more? Are you skilled at crafts and have many craftsmen in your circle of friends and family? Do you already have an architect who is familiar with these blocks and their characteristics?

We wanted to have the roof done, as well as the house connection, heating, and the foundation with the floor slab. We are handy and have already helped with several renovations. But of course, it’s a different thing whether you help out or take on the responsibility, coordination, and tasks mainly on your own. But well, the alternative is renting and investing the money elsewhere, and that’s not an exciting prospect either.

But probably the whole thing is off now anyway, we just found out that our desired plot is gone … :( well, waited too long

Ok, now there is the alternative plot for €32,000 more… but we have not yet reached the financial maximum. My husband and I could both increase our work hours, and the loan could theoretically be a bit higher. But then we would leave the comfort zone. Hmm. So either take the leap and see how it goes or wait and hope for a better opportunity in the coming years…

So "additional costs" due to more "overtime" can certainly be absorbed. However, that unfortunately "conflicts" with more own effort  I also unfortunately do not read years of intensive engagement with the topic from your contributions

Definitely work more as long as it is still possible. A house is an expensive wish that costs an insane amount of money.
If possible and reasonable, of course work more. Whoever wants to spend money must also earn it. Better now than later.

No one can make the decision for you. But it sounds relaxed with you, if you have already been dealing with it for years and can wait for years more. May I ask how old you are? Children present or wanted?
