Disadvantages of an existing house on a slope?

Building new on a slope is (probably more than before) associated with significantly higher costs, among other things due to the "basement requirement" - there is a very good thread on this, which I can't quickly find right now. If someone has it on hand, they can link it.

I don't know which thread you mean and was surprised to find nothing with the keyword basement question (which was due to the missing hyphen). My more recent posts on this are these: and - but I would not speak of a "basement requirement." It is merely the case – but with an existing house naturally no longer a question – that depending on the characteristics of the plot regarding the basement question, an omitted basement can, effort-wise/pricing-wise, be practically on par with a built basement.
