Hello everyone,

I was just about to plan a kitchen and since there is currently a 20% discount on Faktum kitchens, it might be even more worthwhile.
I am just wondering where the big difference to the new Metod series is?

So far, I have basically only noticed that the parts are available in 20 cm increments and the height has changed.
Therefore, I am looking for someone who knows the current Faktum kitchen and can maybe spot the details faster.
And maybe it is worth it for me to wait for Metod.

Hello Fuxxz,

besides the differences that the Ikea expert wrote to you in the link, you can also simply plan both a Metod with a Scandinavian kitchen planner and a Faktum with a German one and see which one you like better.
If you can still wait for Metod and its dimensions fit your conditions, I would always choose against the discontinued Faktum despite the price advantage, so that I would have the option to replace or add something in a few years.

Best regards

In Switzerland, METOD was introduced as of 1.4. We initially planned the kitchen with FAKTUM and have now newly transferred it to METOD. Disadvantageous for kitchen owners who do not have a kitchen ceiling height of 2.50m.
For example, in an old building, we only have 215cm available and have now lost 10cm due to the 60cm upper cabinets compared to the 70cm ones!!!
We also received no information about this dimension change, neither in the info nor through a new catalog. Not very fair!

Hi,

@morendas:

You made up for the lost 10cm of the wall cabinets with the base cabinets, since those are 80cm with Metod instead of 70cm with Faktum. Furthermore, Metod should be the better kitchen system for your ceiling height. 211cm high cabinets and the matching wall cabinets from Faktum would be rather problematic with your ceiling height.

Why?
It would work out perfectly, wouldn't it?

If you want to assemble the tall cabinets standing up, of course you can. If you assemble them lying down as usual, you can no longer tilt them into the vertical position ... you would then need at least 2.20 meters of ceiling height.
