Hello everyone,

the city has approved the construction of new dormers for me.
Now I have seen from the execution planning of the carpentry that they would build the dormers higher (2.75m) than originally planned in the building application and in the approval (2.55m).
Is this a deviation that can still be overlooked?

Thank you very much

That is the ultimate question of conscience! Legally, the answer is clearly no, but in my region I would build it because no one has measured it in the past. The undertone of your question already reveals the uncertainty that no one can take away from you. If you ask the office, you will have awakened the dogs.

An acquaintance in my area had to have a row of bricks removed again on the upper floor because it was about 20cm higher than in the building permit (the roof was already on it). He had obtained the mayor's approval before the construction started. However, when the district office got wind of it, they imposed a construction stop.

This risk is what I mean. Often it is the envious, the neighbor, etc., who give a tip and then you have the problems. My ex also has such a neighbor. During the construction, the public order office constantly checked the compliance with the passage width, the parking ban, and the like.

I can’t understand such things... Unfortunately, we will also have a neighbor for whom I can well imagine something like that...

Oh yes, we have such neighbors: regulatory office, construction supervision, construction stop... we've already had it all here. I think I will probably have to stay as close as possible to the requested height.
