Could the old house actually be faced with brick? What should be considered then?

See post #3, picture 3/4, this has probably already been done on the long side of a garage, apparently as a facing brick. As a retrofit, I would rather prefer thin bricks. There should still be insulation in between, and what is your goal: modernization or just to soften the contrast to the new building?
