Only sealing from the outside helps against pressing water (DIN 18195-6 now newly DIN18533). So dig around completely, even out the plaster, seal in 2 layers, [Noppenbahn], drainage and close again. The many injection procedures offered from the inside are at best only third choice!

When I tell my father about such methods, he gets angry. (even though he was not a craftsman or anything like that)

Thank you !!!!!!!!!!!!!

Stupid question = which craftsmen do that, the landscaper or the mason?

Quite classic civil engineering (or construction companies). [Garten-Landschaftsbau] rather not.

does it mean to even out?

An acquaintance once spoke of "a cove of the foundation," which should be considered for the object. He said at the time that it must be formed and sealed.
Can you confirm this or describe it in more detail?

Regards

The base slab is usually slightly larger than the basement. That means the basement walls are recessed by 5-10 cm. This area: the protruding base slab and vertical basement walls, is formed with mortar as a fillet. This is also the spot where water often penetrates. Therefore, this area must be carefully insulated. It is now conceivable that over time aging occurs and it becomes leaky. However, if you have once excavated down to this spot, you should just do the entire wall and also install a perimeter drainage to prevent any pressing water from forming in the first place.
