Decision for a house builder... what else should be considered?

With us it is something like: after fulfilling the obligations of the client (building permit, insurance, financing, plot, soil survey) construction begins within x weeks. Completion and handover within x months after the start of construction (start of construction is the completion of the foundation slab). If not, then x% per day of the construction sum as compensation, limited to amount y.

That is about €80 per day for us.
