Hello dear construction forum,

We are building a single-family house of 210 sqm KFW55 and want a decentralized ventilation system. (we have deliberately decided against central ventilation, but this should not be the topic here)

I am looking for a system that is inconspicuous in the exterior appearance of the house. For example, in the window reveals. We do not want the fans on the facade in each room.

Who has experience and can recommend something to me? I look forward to the exchange. Best regards

Even if it's not the topic, you just take a central ventilation system and not a makeshift solution for existing buildings. There's always a hole here, how else should it work.

Thank you for your feedback. I know that it is cost-effective and energy-efficient to install a central ventilation system. Nevertheless, we decided against it and are now looking for a decentralized solution for our new building.

I have read that there is the possibility to integrate the fans into the window reveals or to work with overflow vents inside.
I would simply like to hear experiences and tips from builders who have also chosen a discreet decentralized ventilation system.

I don't find ventilation openings in any reveal that inconspicuous. From a distance, yes, but when you are closer, you can see them, right? From my point of view, the least conspicuous would still be the pure active ventilation in a few defined rooms and then, for example, over the roof. Inflows then through window rebate openings and overflow.

Yes, that sounds good. But who do you turn to for such individual solutions? Yes, I'm also not entirely happy with the window reveals. That's why I'm looking for further ideas.

Window rebate opening -> window manufacturer Decentralized ventilation -> HSL (heating/plumbing/ventilation) or MEP engineer. There are also companies specialized solely in ventilation, but I don't know if they support single-family homes. When building with a general contractor/main contractor always consider them.
