We have had such a device in the bedroom for 5 years and are very satisfied with it. It has 3 speeds for the two built-in computer fans and we only use level 2. You get used to the quiet hum. My measurements of the incoming and outgoing air temperature showed an efficiency of about 85%. That is enough for us. Especially now in the cold, you can hardly leave the bedroom window tilted open all night like in summer. Then the device is off for us. Actually, I wanted to equip the whole house with it, but because of the medicine cabinet look, this idea was not well received. In the 5 years, the price has climbed quite a bit, I just noticed. Whether that is really justified? By the way, I installed it myself, which was a piece of cake. You only need a suitable core drill bit for €3.50 and a sip of luck. Then can foam and a vacuum cleaner for cleaning.

Morning!

Yes, that makes sense. WR with tilted window - and with cold, window closed and system off :D.

Then I better not ask how the efficiency was calculated.

@iteach
Apparently decentralized systems are rather rare - or people are reluctant to report their experiences. Unfortunately, I could not find out how the WR in these systems is supposed to bring significant benefits :confused:.

Best regards,
TomTom.

After everything I have read about [Kontrollierte-Wohnraumlüftung], a decentralized system usually only makes sense for retrofitting, or for the "bacteria" faction that doesn't want ducts. In my opinion, a decentralized [Kontrollierte-Wohnraumlüftung] (especially with heat recovery) is nonsense. 85% heat recovery through the ceramic plate? Seriously, no? If a decentralized system with heat recovery, then a forced window ventilation with an exhaust heat pump. Although, in my opinion, heat recovery itself is not necessarily required. If you assume window ventilation, the heat is lost anyway... But luckily, today my central [Kontrollierte-Wohnraumlüftung] with heat recovery will be put into operation.
