Damage to neighbor's house or street - who is liable?

Okay, the building permit is not yet approved, but it will be examined immediately afterwards.

I wrote -for now- for that reason. I have very frequent contact with the building authority and am incredibly satisfied with how accommodating, talkative, and purposeful they are there. I just don’t want to ask any further questions unprepared now, when I cannot yet foresee any follow-up questions; I like to be prepared so as not to annoy unnecessarily. That’s why I’m starting here first and lo and behold: I’m already a few steps further.

Now I’m waiting for the remaining offers so that I can then deal more intensively with the contracts of the ones under consideration. Our favorite is a locally based company that also received the contract this year to do the everyday things for the municipality. So they also know the responsible people at the authority and may be able to give us one or two pieces of information.

Before my original post, I had hoped that something like this could never be passed on to individuals. You have shown me the opposite, which of course has now awakened my alarm bells.
