As said - just a document showing that no profit was made anyway. So it also costs no taxes.

The whole concept does not make the operator's work easier, only the tax office's.

I also have an offer for 12.4kwp (about 1250€/kwp net), but I am afraid that the tax office will not recognize it as a hobby.

Why do you want to have it recognized as a hobby? The effort to file a tax return for the system is quite manageable, and you can get the VAT reimbursed.

Otherwise, in my opinion, the 10 kWp limit is relevant to have the system recognized as a hobby.

You don’t have to believe everything you hear. I estimate 1 minute for VAT advance returns (monthly / quarterly and later only once a year). Plus 15 minutes for profit determination ==> personal experience from two installations

For the quarterly! VAT advance return (which you can’t avoid even with hobby activities, unless you have too much money to spare and don’t want the VAT refunded) I always need about 15 minutes. And you only save the income surplus calculation once a year. Since you’re doing your taxes anyway, you can also provide three more numbers.

So: fill the roofs fully and don’t let artificial obstacles stop you!
I can’t say it often enough: EVERY photovoltaic system is too small!
Example: Bad weather --> 10% system performance. What do you want to get from 1 kW on the roof?! You can’t wash laundry with it, let alone charge an electric car twice!

A family friend, 300m as the crow flies from our construction site, also installed a similar size 6 months ago. They registered it and got VAT refunded. Is that what you mean by hobby? Otherwise, I still have to read through it carefully. I can only register it once the registration and installation are completed anyway.
