The term "turnkey" is legally correct, but no general contractor I know offers a turnkey house that includes painters and flooring, i.e., the classic interior finishing. Sure, some might still install a tile backsplash or the hallway including that. That would be silly anyway, because the customer sees "turnkey" and goes to the one who offers it cheaper. The fact that someone offers "turnkey" as move-in ready is not immediately apparent to the customer.
As is known, I built a Flair 152 at the 2021 price, plus a price adjustment before construction started, so effectively the 2022 price... and I still wonder how I am supposed to ever get to 3,000 EUR/m² move-in ready with that.
We are now at well over 400,000 EUR for the house, including kitchen, completely new living room furnishings, floors, paints, various decorative items, including additional construction costs.
And the further my interior finishing progresses on my own, the more I wonder what the people who invest 450,000 EUR in a move-in ready house, without new furniture, without a kitchen... without additional construction costs, actually have more than I do. Well, upstairs there was only enough for laminate instead of parquet...
