A filigree slab is a precast reinforced concrete slab, which is poured on site – that is, at the construction site – with cast-in-place concrete. These filigree slabs are used as ground floors, in two- and multi-story buildings, as the closure of a full story. These days, they are mostly preferred over formwork boards. A crane is needed for this.

And such a crane can destroy quite a lot! We built with GÜ. The carpenter had ordered a small crane, but at six in the morning (December) a 60-ton crane rolled in. Way too oversized for our purposes. It first sank down at the neighbor's when it tried to swing itself out of the crane parking spot. For that, it had to additionally drive onto the neighbor’s paving laid in the yard. Unfortunately, the specially created crane parking spot was not designed for this vehicle. Damage to the neighbor: 200 sqm of paving had to be relaid. Costs: €5,000. For GÜ, that was an expensive day. For us and the neighbor, quite a shock at an early hour.

Thank you. Try to find out based on these points what makes the crane so indispensable. Whether filigree ceiling or shuttered, I cannot deduce from the offer. I will also inquire about that.

A crane is also needed for the shell elements

There are areas where a crane is present at every construction project - it is common here to always have a crane. A very large construction site (three-digit number of houses) here in the area always looks quite funny - it feels like there are more cranes than houses.

I also find it hard to imagine that a site manager deviates from his usual procedure...

How interesting. In our construction area (also a three-digit number of plots) not a single crane has stood at any single-family house so far. Instead, mobile cranes are ordered for short periods whenever necessary. Most delivery trucks nowadays almost all already have a crane arm. This often suffices even for delicate ceiling elements.

Of course - but a small one is sufficient. I wouldn’t have expected to have to mention that explicitly; the necessity should be obvious even to laymen
