Hello everyone,

our house is still under construction. The painters have already finished, so it won't take much longer.

We noticed the following:

At almost all transitions from wall to ceiling, fine cracks can be seen. This affects both the interior walls (drywall) and the exterior walls (sand-lime brick or concrete).

I wonder where this comes from. Is this normal and will it be repaired again before handover, or is this a defect? To my knowledge, [Trennfix] was used.

Can you help me?

Thank you very much!

No defects. You can have it repaired now, but in a few months it will be back again and the cracks will also be significantly larger.

I don’t know any new building without :)

It's completely normal, whether it's sand-lime brick or timber frame construction. This happens everywhere. It is said that after about two years you can start working there and close the cracks.

Neither. Transitions between drywall/solid construction are never sealed, and the joints move. Sooner or later.
Since you haven’t had an acceptance inspection yet, just naively ask. I can well imagine that this can be professionally softened a bit on the fingers with Ayryl.
I’m surprised that it appears this early. For us it took 1-2 years, and that without cushioning woodchip wallpaper...

The painter I trust always uses construction adhesive. Holds 100 times better but also costs more. Acrylic is, in my eyes, rubbish..
