What is the motivation? - Clinker bricks cost wall thickness and thus living space! When weighing full clinker cladding against slips, it is regularly overlooked that the price difference is not the main issue. The essential difference lies elsewhere, namely in their installation: slips simply adhere on their back like wall tiles, whereas full clinker bricks need to be held in place in two ways: primarily on their underside like a wall, which, however, as a pure stretcher bond here requires a second component of anchoring in the construction wall shell behind. Thinking of clinker cladding as a purely optical add-on is not recommended. It should be included in the planning of the wall structure from the outset and should fulfill a function there. Trying to achieve a "Mettwurst" look would, in my opinion, be the stupidest option.

That should not be a problem in Lower Saxony. Do you have a general contractor contract? Not that you only thought of it afterwards.

I couldn't figure out which federal state it was about each time.

The clinker was always included at the beginning of the request with the general contractors. However, practically all of them declined. I suspect you have to look for a general contractor who specializes in that from the outset. Brockhaus set up one near us; they can do it.

Hello,
We had the same "problem". We only wanted to clad our double garage with facing bricks. Here in BaWü, nobody wanted to do it. For the professionals from Northern Germany, it was too small a job, and for the tilers here, too complicated. After a long back and forth, my husband decided to do it himself. For the past 2 months, he has been sticking the blasted facing bricks onto the garage wall in the afternoons. It looks great. No craftsman could do it more precisely. A few m2 are still missing. And then the grouting. When the work is finished, we both +++.
By the way: it wasn’t even 40m2

It is a commonly believed misconception that the craftsman always and automatically does it better than the ambitious DIYer. He just does it much faster and thus achieves a much higher work output... but he also knows his tolerances and for time reasons alone does not make everything perfect.

For 116,000 EUR I would forego clinker in any form and prefer to have normal plaster applied to the wall.

I also would not remove it and award it separately later. That will also be expensive because another scaffold will be needed and the facade will be unprotected for months or years if you don’t find someone who does it or if they have a lead time of one year.

And doing it yourself is completely out of the question anyway for 260 m². On the one hand, you need a certain level of expertise for the connections/sealing of the windows, on the other hand such work takes forever after work hours and the scaffold won’t be exactly cheap if it stands there for months.
