If a civil engineer is in town and you get along well with him, I see no problem. I also cannot imagine that a 20t mobile excavator would take longer than 5 hours for the excavation.

Everyone has to have their own experiences. In my experience, civil engineering is pretty much the most expensive part of construction, and anyone who thinks they can quickly and cheaply get machines in the six-figure price range at their disposal will be rubbing their eyes in the end.

I only know the machine prices roughly – and they are 65-90€/h plus another 40-45 for the driver. Long distances are always expensive. Whether for transportation or disposal.

I wasn't talking about you at all but the builders with their 3 euros per cubic. That doesn't even cover the diesel.

I can only say what our civil engineer charges.

And I think he easily handles 210m3 in an 8-hour day. That would be 880€ at 110€ per hour. That would be 4.2€ per m3 and I don't think he needs 8 hours for that.

Just looked again at our offer for the earthworks. It is from July, so current.

Excavation: €10.00/m³
Delivery, installation, compaction of gravel: €10.00/m³
Delivery, installation, compaction of crushed stone: €30.00/m³

All prices are net plus VAT. Arrival or departure is not charged, as the civil engineer is already working on many sites in the new development area.
