Hello everyone.

In the near future, there may be a house purchase, which should be renovated, built in 1970. I have a cost question regarding this and the key data as follows: Basement (partially heated), ground floor and attic, floor area approx. 100 sqm, gas heating (2002) with regular radiators, mostly under the windows. I would like to have underfloor heating throughout the entire ground floor. Question: If I remove the existing screed myself so that a heating engineer can start work from the concrete floor, practically like in new construction, what costs would I have to expect? The heating in the basement and attic should be retained!

Thank you in advance for any information.

Regards

Achim

Hello dear community,

exactly this question is also occupying me right now.. It is also a semi-detached house from 1970. In 1992, the heating system was converted from oil to gas or replaced. At least on the ground floor, we would very much like to have underfloor heating. When researching the topic of "retrofitting underfloor heating," you come across some providers who offer the installation of underfloor heating without having to remove the screed. The space for the underfloor heating seems to be milled out.

Whether with or without removal of the screed: Are there any experiences with the retrofitting of underfloor heating? Can someone provide information on costs and/or the practical suitability of retrofitting?

Best regards
Ferique
