What kind of information is that now?
Does B. have HVV or not?

I live for many (especially Hamburgers) also at the butt end of the world, yet a train (connected to HVV) runs here every hour (morning and evening).

Be that as it may: one should also look at other things and consider them, and not buy the first property just because it is rare.

The HVV already has a connection, but a bus that runs every hour in the morning and evening is suboptimal (bus->S-Bahn->Hamburg city). You can easily be on the way for more than 60 minutes. Wentorf is somewhat better; there the bus runs every 10 minutes in the morning/evening and every 20 minutes during the day.

That is why Börnsen was not an option for me at least. But everyone can check that for themselves at hvv.de.

I understand that. By the way, I meant to say: every 10 minutes in the mornings and evenings. But as I understood the OP, their point in life (at least work) is in Bergedorf. So it’s probably worth considering taking the bus to work, and then occasionally going to the city. The OP wouldn’t necessarily have to finance two cars in B., but could live there quite adequately (and more affordably).

Yes, once an hour is really very sh*tty. When the kids want to go somewhere alone later, a proper connection is definitely very desirable. As I said, we also had Wentorf in closer consideration, but unfortunately the prices there can't really be called cheap either.
