Hello We are currently planning our house and want to install a geothermal heat pump with deep drilling, with underfloor heating. We were offered to cool through the underfloor heating in summer. Do you have any experience with this, both positive and negative? I have heard that this can cause condensation in the screed, which can lead to damage, is there any truth to that?

I think there is no condensate in the screed (where would it even come from), but you can’t cool down very far because otherwise there will be condensate on the floor covering. You will gain about 1 to 2 degrees maximum, not much, but better than nothing (for relatively low electricity costs), and you regenerate the ground a little. For proper cooling in summer, you need a proper air conditioning system.

Well, relatively low electricity costs? There are also two options - either just run the circulation pumps - or actively work with the compressor.

I have the latter and so far it hasn’t been ideal, because the compressor kept shutting off fairly quickly whenever the brine temperature reached 40 degrees...

But I really need to get to grips with it properly...

With the circulation pump, the costs are low, and the compressor is no less effective than a proper air conditioner. But can the compressor run for a long time without it getting too cold on the floor?

No, not less effective - but you do have higher electricity costs ;)

It has a dew point calculation, meaning it normally doesn't get too cold because of that. But it annoyed me that it quickly heated the brine so much and then had to wait first. So it cycled a lot - but as I said, I haven't really dealt with the function much so far.

How does the dew point calculation work, does he have a humidity sensor in the living room, for example?
