Hello. Unfortunately, we don't have any smart home technology in the house. In the bathroom and kitchen, we have ceiling spots. I would like to control these spots via Alexa. There are various providers on the market for this. Which would you recommend in terms of price/performance?

How exactly is the setup? In the ceiling, I only have the outlets for the spots. Does each spot need a receiver or something similar? I am not referring to the home station. Are there alternatives without a ballast? I don't have space for that in the ceiling.

Which spots do you even have?

None so far. So I can still buy everything flexibly. So light bulbs and spotlights.

In general, it is probably better to think about the actuators (switches/dimmers) here and not about "Alexa-compatible" light bulbs. The only light bulbs that come to mind spontaneously are all the Hue or WLAN bulbs, although Hue also comes as GU10 - but they are quite expensive in quantity.

The super-cheap solution would probably be the Shellys, provided WLAN is available. You hang them behind any push button or switch in the wall and they come as a switch or dimmer. The light bulbs themselves are then pretty much irrelevant, or if you want to dim, you of course need dimmable light bulbs. The Alexa integration works well. I have a Shelly 1, an RGBW, and a dimmer here for testing. They run perfectly once you have set them up in the clunky app. These are quite nice problem solvers if you have forgotten something.
