You install an activated carbon filter somewhere in the supply air stream. The important thing is that the filter surface area is as large as possible to be effective. With Zehnder, you can simply and compactly attach various components to the controlled residential ventilation (just google Comfowell). With others, you may need to build a filter box into the air stream (which certainly isn't rocket science either). Controlled residential ventilation and air distribution do not necessarily have to come from the same manufacturer, meaning you could also build a Viessmann controlled residential ventilation system with Zehnder distribution. When we planned this 1.5 years ago, Zehnder was the gold standard for controlled residential ventilation. Therefore, we have a Viessmann heat pump and Zehnder controlled residential ventilation.
