Apart from the fact that these two things cannot be compared at all....

You will never retrofit a centralized controlled residential ventilation system - far too complex. You can always retrofit a photovoltaic system.

--> Clearly in favor of the controlled residential ventilation system

We are still in the planning phase, so everything is possible. I do mean a centralized ventilation system. So far, two decentralized fans with heat recovery are planned in the two bathrooms. I am aware that [Kontrollierte-Wohnraumlüftung] and [Photovoltaik] cannot be directly compared. That actually makes it even more difficult to decide on one of the two... I tend to lean more towards [Kontrollierte-Wohnraumlüftung] because it cannot be retrofitted. The problem is somewhat that I can't really grasp the comfort gain at all. Yes, it is a comfort gain. But to what extent? Difficult...

Without controlled residential ventilation, one of you may air out the house about twice a day by opening windows briefly. Then you are immediately a slave to your house. And with 220sqm... (who needs 220sqm?[emoji848])... that can take a while.

How much are you worth per hour?

The gain in comfort is huge. Properly programmed, you don’t have to ventilate manually at all if you don’t want to. As ypg already writes..... walking through the whole house every day to ventilate would annoy me. In a small apartment that’s quick, but in a 220 sqm house?!

Our ventilation system allows, for example, the free programming of different times per day. So you can also automatically increase the air exchange through the controlled residential ventilation in the morning after getting up etc etc etc.

Hello,

thanks already for all the opinions. I think I am almost convinced. There really is no argument against a controlled residential ventilation system, except for the investment costs...

The controlled residential ventilation system would then be connected to the KNX bus in combination with air quality sensors. I have an appointment with our plumber today regarding the topic. Let's see what he thinks.

Things to consider: Controlled residential ventilation means forced ventilation. With many advantages, but also always and everywhere. Turning off a controlled residential ventilation system whenever one feels like it is very unusual and the system is not designed for that. Also, what the inside of the ducts looks like after a few years is not really known. 10 years go by quickly. I just want to bring it to your attention. I would definitely install an exhaust fan in the bathroom as well. Otherwise, there are also interesting decentralized devices that can possibly be installed later as needed in the individual rooms. And there are interesting ventilation options that can at least be combined with the roof windows in the roof.
