Section 35 of the Building Code allows it in my opinion.

Yes, we live directly in a small village with about 500 inhabitants, which belongs to a town with 12,000 inhabitants.

I know of two farmers in our customer base whose successors have practically built on the premises in a pasture, but I think I heard something about "building on a retirement transfer" there. However, in our case, the commercial enterprise is the main source of income, and agriculture itself is only a small part, if that matters.

A second residential building is supposed to be built here, so if you are of the opinion, please also provide the relevant paragraph. I do not consider § 35 Baugesetzbuch to be applicable. That won't work. No matter what the municipality wants, in case of doubt the responsible district office will put a stop to it.

Here too. I am just wondering whether they are all full-time farmers. For one I am not sure. The rest, yes.

You can try, but it is difficult with us and even more difficult if the company is more of a service provider/contractor, however here (with us) a child who lives there (do you currently live on the farm?) is somewhat better off because of that.

We also built in the rural area, privileged by residence - not by agriculture, and I tell you it was quite a struggle until we got the approval.

The most important thing, from our experience, is an architect (even if he comes from a construction company) who is very well connected in your community, because the permits go through countless hands.
With us, first the city, then the district, then the lower landscape authority, the water protection authority and of course also the responsible nature conservation authority all had to have a say.

We built in NRW.

Paragraph 6. Somewhat unclearly formulated, but in my opinion interpretable in this way.
