First, one would have to properly define what is included in that.

Friends have „extended“ a Viebrockhaus. These 7sqm cost €5000, so about €700 per sqm.
Logically, the kitchen, the bathroom, etc. are not proportionally included in that.

Therefore, it is pointless to calculate like this. Each additional sqm tends to be cheaper if calculated as marginal costs.
On average, it becomes cheaper the larger you build.

But that doesn't really help.

But there are also nuances here.

For example, 10 sqm more in a 1.5- or 2-story building are usually cheaper than in a bungalow.

Please give some details... I would be interested to know how the 1400€ came about. When did you build?

Last year we built. I had written about it in more detail somewhere, I need to look for it...

Crazy. Well, the price only works if the building design, the building technology, the fittings, and the outdoor facilities are consistently subordinated to the needs. The extra costs start already if the wrong plot is bought, such as no gas connection and a slope.

Thanks for the link

We haven’t really made any compromises, I have to say. We have often weighed whether this extra is really worth amount X to us. The dream of the house is not supposed to be subordinated to the rest of our lives. The value for money is perfect for us, and there is nothing we miss. I think you also can’t tell from the house that it might have been cheaper than others – although for me that would never have been a reason to spend more money!
