Good morning everyone,

I still need smoke detectors for the house. It is important to me that the smoke detectors are networked (Smart Home capable but not necessarily). The current plan is 4 Homematic smoke detectors in the "mandatory" rooms and the rest with Xiaomi detectors (Honeywell technology is installed there). Which ones do you use? Do you have any tips?

Which system should they input their alarm signal into, or is it just about everyone triggering when one detects something?

On the recommendation of a firefighter, we have the Hekatron smoke detectors Genius plus x. After 10 years, you can throw away the actual detector but remove and reuse the radio module. By the way, Stiftung Warentest test winner; unlike the competition, practically no annoying false alarms. And despite thick concrete walls, excellent reception.

Used by us in the hallway basement, basement utility room, hallway ground floor and hallway upper floor, attic studio, and in the bedrooms. For networking, it is important that the radio modules come from the same delivery; buying later is annoying. So buy them all at once, at least the radio modules!

There is nothing smart about it, but if I were to find out in time while on vacation that my place is burning down—and I couldn’t do anything anyway—that would probably be lost vacation enjoyment. Oh yes, you can even read it out with an app.

Actually, that's enough for me. If anything, the battery level should be able to be retrieved via IO-Broker.

Then you have to see which smoke detectors IO-Broker can communicate with. Otherwise, the Hekatron or FireAngel ones are quite usable.

No cheaper alternative available? The Hekatron with radio module is even more expensive than the Homematic.
