You have an open one then, right? If I have a closed one anyway, the light is not an aspect for us... I really don't know what to base the decision on.

As mentioned, it is about a closed one, and those are considerably more expensive compared to the open ones - even with solid wood! As I said, in terms of price I think both closed variants are quite expensive. However, the concrete staircase can definitely be covered with anything (also later on) and does not creak.

I would make it dependent on the aspects you mentioned whether you want a slim design or not. In wood, you can realize a slim folded plate staircase, in concrete it will be correspondingly thicker. We will have a concrete staircase to the basement, below which I want to create a built-in closet or something similar, like you. From the ground floor to the attic, we decided on a cantilevered wooden staircase. We would have also chosen concrete but that is unaffordable as a cantilevered staircase. Now only the wall next to the staircase is made of concrete, that must be enough.
By the way, the wooden staircase in my parents' house used to annoy me quite a bit, it creaks really noticeably. To keep it short: If you can realize your desired staircase in concrete, I would choose concrete. Since you want a closed staircase, I think the chances are pretty good. I would make sure that the (concrete) staircase is acoustically decoupled, meaning it does not rest directly on the floor and ceiling but is cushioned with such foam mats. I don’t know if that is always done, in our case it is.

Good evening,

Regardless of the shape, whether straight or spiral – a standardized wooden staircase is always cheaper.

The pure concrete staircase itself is not more expensive; what becomes more costly is the preparation for installing a covering, the covering itself, as well as the railing.

Basically, you only have the choice of a concrete staircase – due to the desired storage space under the stairs. A standard wooden staircase requires closed treads (then you cannot look through), and the connection work between concrete and wood is not something you can just do easily; in other words, expensive craftsman hours.

Best regards from the Rhineland

2240€ net for the concrete staircase + 106.50€ net per step in stained beech + stainless steel stair railing for 1500€ net
In our case, with 15 steps, that makes a total price of about 6350€ including VAT.
Unfortunately, I can't tell you how much a wooden staircase costs, as that was not considered in our case.
