Hello!

I would like to ask if any of you have ever made a plaster wall with a concrete look yourselves.
There are instructions where thick sheets, cut to size, are applied edge to edge on fresh plaster and peeled off again after a short time to actually create the visual effect that the wall is made up of individual concrete segments.

Is it possible to do this yourself? How is it, since I have more time than money...

... and hopefully also more luck than sense, because with exposed brickwork / exposed concrete you can see "everything" - especially "fake" needs to be "learned"

I consider it nonsense to make a plaster wall fit with foil. Which color would you use then, if the look fits?

How about troweled-on "concrete"? There are plenty of suppliers where you can achieve better quality yourself than with foil...

May I post the link to a site where something like this is explained?

The foil is used in the example only as a tool to basically create the effect as it occurs when building formwork for concrete.

Sure, there are definitely many other possibilities... that's exactly why I'm asking here. Concrete look is really trendy right now... someone must have done it before...

how is that supposed to work? The concrete surface must have tactile defects: air bubbles and the joints of the formwork. How is that supposed to be achieved by "troweling"?

For that reason, I find the idea of a 3D foil --> with the negative of this structure <-- which is pressed into a fresh plaster layer, very good! Afterwards, paint with several shades of gray, first dark - evenly, then a bit lighter "sprayed on". I think that could turn out well, but as it always is... from the couch these ideas always feel better than in reality, when the still wet plaster comes off again while pulling off the foil and so on.^^

Our kitchen as well as the matching sideboard, also supplied by the kitchen manufacturer, will get generous concrete-look elements. For entire walls, we lacked the courage, or rather the room size, so that it wouldn’t feel overwhelming...

At Hornbach, I saw a paste that is supposed to give the wall a concrete look (including color). Maybe that's something...
