the DIN refers to the riser height and tread depth of the steps. Definitely not to the width of the individual steps; the staircase builder is talking nonsense.

Refuse the acceptance "in writing" with reference to sampling according to the graphic and construction steps and then let him come. For me, the steps are too narrow or the stringers are set too wide.

OT: May I ask how big the staircase is and what it cost?

I also think that the steps should be flush. Especially because of cleaning! I would also complain and refer to the graphic.

Wanted to revive this thread again. Can anyone comment on what their steel stringer staircase with wooden steps cost per floor? We would also like to have one but don't know if it fits into the budget. I requested two quotes based on the floor plan for a rough planning, but no one has responded for a week... :(
