Hello,
following situation: Bauhaus style; wooden windows inside with dark (brown-black) stain; aluminum windows outside in 7016 anthracite; gray-white facade (RAL 9002) with selected anthracite areas; anthracite venetian blinds
We are now going back and forth discussing the color of the window sills:
Alternative 1 (suggestion from our architect): gray-white, like the facade
+ blends in more, since it matches the facade
+ might be less noticeable when looking outside with the brown/black windows
- questionable if you can really get the same gray-white as the facade since it is a different material (we don’t want to introduce another color)
- you can hardly see it anywhere because almost everyone has RAL 7016 window sills (or sometimes aluminum gray) when windows are RAL 7016 outside
Alternative 2 (like almost everyone): anthracite, like the windows
+ identical to the window color since it’s the same material (aluminum)
+ many examples exist
- does not “blend in” as much
- might be more noticeable when looking outside with the brown-black wooden windows
What do you think about the architect’s suggestion or how did you solve it?
Best regards Jochen
