I also have my windowsills made of brick and it was no problem for the bricklayers. There is a seal under the bricks/windowsills, even if they were completely leaky, not a drop of water would come towards the house/insulation.

...and even if water were to reach the insulation, that would not be so dramatic, as it is hydrophobized.
