Cistern pump, are price differences justified, experiences?

Gardena does not have suitable pumps. These are domestic waterworks… Pumps come in all varieties. As mentioned, the tip is the deep well pump for price/performance. We have different requirements and therefore different pumps (Wilo). That piece costs several thousand euros. Graf also has a combo pump with level monitoring, replenishment, etc. But it is also already over 2k€.

It's about a pump for a 5m³ cistern... I consider a 750 EUR pump completely, but really completely exaggerated. You, with your 50m³ cistern, with all due respect, are not a reference at all... A 5m³ cistern is empty most of the time from spring to autumn anyway... so the pump doesn't run at all then.

The very inexpensive Gardena & Co pumps generate only low pressure. is right, you simply have to look at the respective pump diagram. With a maximum pressure of one bar, only a little water comes out of the shower head with a long hose, and you can forget about sprinklers. From 3 bar it becomes usable in my opinion, but it depends on the height difference, where you have to calculate starting from the pump in the cistern. 10m = 1 bar. Our pump hangs easily 5m deep in the cistern, so the first half bar is already lost by the time the water reaches the tap. I consider pressure more important than flow rate, especially when it is a small cistern.

Are 76m2 ;) But it’s not just about the size of the [Zisterne]. How many meters of elevation need to be overcome, what flow rate is necessary, etc.

I’ve now looked around a bit more. Apparently, there is a successor model, NiRo 40. My requirements are relatively straightforward. A garden of about 130m² should be watered, of which about 70m² is pure lawn, the rest are beds, shrubs, etc. The terrain is almost square, with no height difference, the cistern goes to a depth of about 1.5m and is a flat tank.

The NiRo 40 has the following specifications:
- Rated power: 1.0 kW
- Delivery head: 40 m
- Operating pressure: 4.5 bar
- Max. flow rate: 5700 l/h
- Max. immersion depth: 5 m
- Max. suction height: 8 m
- Max. suction length: 12 m

That should easily fit if I compare it with your comments here, e.g. with the operating pressure. Right?

Thanks to you all!

Yes, that would work. For the controller, I recommend Hunter Hydrawise. The small one with 6 zones will be enough for you. Please use sprinklers and such not from Gardena but from Hunter, Rainbird, Perrot … Professional components, more durable and usually also cheaper.
