I assume that the regulations on garden irrigation will also change in Bavaria and that drinking water will become more expensive. Better to install a cistern now than later. Rainwater is better for plants anyway than drinking water.

It was buried at the beginning of 2021, and no. It is at home in the beautiful Münsterland. But a domestic water system including cistern generally costs the same everywhere (except transport)? (manufacturer price list) or even something less at the building materials dealer. We have the package "Mall Hauswasserpaket Tano L" edit: I am just shocked by the massive price increase :-( :huch

The Mall House Water Package Tano L alone costs 5.5k€ with a 5000-liter cistern, plus the excavation of the construction pit + connection to the water supply. That smells more like five figures.

yup, just checked. The invoice was from 10/20/2020 for 3265.63 euros (minus 3% discount) for the package including 5.8m³ cistern.
Crazy what has happened there. But I would definitely ask for the current price at the building materials dealer, that was cheaper than the manufacturer (even though they produce here locally!)

My nephew has a plastic cistern of a few thousand liters, I think I heard, for less than 1K? He also buried and connected it himself with some support.

The 5200 liter cistern costs 2500€ on the market. Added to that are pump, empty conduits, socket, labor costs, construction pit. I don’t think you’ll get it much cheaper. Except if you do it yourself, of course.

I have connected all the toilets and the washing machine and installed a crane in the garden. The roof drains into the cistern. It is definitely worth it. Alone because it is the only forward-looking solution. The dry years will increase, and people who can afford to build a house find X thousand euros too much for a sustainable solution? I do not understand that.
