Child building allowance: two properties purchased

Hello everyone,

I have a question about Baukindergeld because it's a bit more complex in our case.

September 2020 house purchase notarized. First and only property at that time. One child.
October 2020 apartment purchase notarized, second property.
December 2020 registered at the apartment (so second property). Had to move out of the rental apartment, but the house was not finished yet.

February 2021: finally moved into the house (first property) and also registered there.
June 2021: expected birth date of second child.
June 2021: application for Baukindergeld for the house and then two children.

Can this work like that, or are the deadlines/requirements not fulfilled? What do you think?

at least the 2nd child will not work. Why also? Child birth after March 2021

For me, all the requirements are met. You are only allowed to apply 6 months after moving in. March 31st is only relevant for the purchase date, but you have already fulfilled that anyway. So our neighbors want to move in in August and are expecting their first child in October and are also still counting on the [Baukindergeld]. The building permit was definitely within the deadline.
