Hello everyone,

exactly where my ventilation has its exit from the house, I want to build a part of the terrace. The terrace will be built about 1 meter elevated, which is why the ventilation practically comes out under the terrace. It was originally not planned for a part of the terrace to be placed there - but now it is. :) The ventilation outlets to the outside are already in place - so they can no longer be changed.

From my point of view, I have two options: I could build a substructure so that there is a free space under the terrace, or I could design a kind of "dry construction" and "install" a ventilation pipe that goes forward about 1.5 meters and then finds its way "to the outside"?

Do you have any tips on this or maybe other ideas?

I hope I was able to explain the situation quite well. :) Otherwise, please ask.

Best regards Oliver

A picture is worth more than 1000 words. Such a deep outlet is unusual. Hopefully, the fresh air inlet is higher?

IMHO there is no objection to simply leaving the space under the terrace open. The exhaust air should be able to exit unhindered. If you extend the pipe, you add a (albeit small) additional pressure loss that changes the system characteristics (whether this is relevant remains to be seen).

The ventilation outlet often produces (minor) noise. The location at the terrace is therefore not ideal in any case.

The fresh air supply is at the same height. It really couldn't be routed any higher, since it has to come out of the basement.

You are right about the picture, that's why I attached one. :)

Best regards Oliver

Of course the fresh air duct in the wall can be routed higher... Isn't that even specified in some standard? At least 2.5 m above the ground or something like that?

That would of course be interesting if there were a standard for this. Does anyone know more about this?
