In December 2022, we had a split air conditioning system retroactively installed in our house from 1996.
For this, we applied for the BaFa subsidy in August 2022 and also received confirmation from BaFa at the end of 2022.
After uploading the necessary documents to the portal, we have now received a rescission notice because the invoice supposedly shows that the technical minimum requirements were not met. The letter does not specify in what way.
We are now filing an objection because, to our knowledge and that of the installer, all requirements were met. The reasoning for the objection is difficult because no details regarding the reason for the rejection can be found in the letter.
Has anyone had experience with this or an idea of whom to contact?
Thank you in advance.

Well, I would definitely file an objection and briefly list the points with the installer that, in your opinion, make it eligible for funding, and then request a final review. And in case of a renewed rejection, immediately demand that they at least briefly explain which funding criteria are not met.

Thank you for your response. Unfortunately, I am not very familiar with the subject :-( and the installer is more knowledgeable about the installation than about the funding. The installer has already installed other similar systems whose buyers were approved for funding. For the application process, I recall that it was important that the heat pump is on the list of eligible devices. I cannot list any other criteria that justify funding. Where could one find that information?

Google led me to a PDF from Bafa ("Federal Funding for Efficient Buildings - List of Technical FAQs - Individual Measures") from which the technical minimum requirements should be derived. However, the document is unfortunately so extensive (34 pages with about 100 points) and not only about heat pumps/air conditioning, that I don’t know how to extract the points that are exactly relevant to our case.

Just give them a call and ask for the reason.

Of course, I can try that.

I didn't think of that idea because the authority was considered practically unreachable last year.
From application to approval, 6 months have passed, whereas 6-8 weeks used to be normal before.
I will try it.

If the device is listed, there should normally be no problems. File an objection within the deadline and refer to the listed device. If you’re lucky, some incompetent caseworker simply made a mistake. If I’m not mistaken, split air conditioning units count as heat pumps -> ETA should be a funding criterion.
