Can the photovoltaic conduit breakthrough through the roof already be made?

Hello everyone,

a conduit for a photovoltaic system is also included in our house construction. We do not yet know when or if we will ever install such a system. We just thought it can't hurt.

Would you have the conduit installed all the way through the roof now (since it is included in the price) or only under the roof and make the "breakthrough" only when the system actually comes?

Best regards
Oliver

Hmm you mean if it should go through the stones already? So if the stones are included in the price, then I would at least have them delivered... they are not cheap... otherwise just let the empty conduit end inside the rafter area.

A few pieces of information are missing, such as the roof shape.

have the roof tiles handed over and end up under the roof. if you want to go through, theoretically "only" the one roof tile would have to be replaced. and of course, the likelihood of the expansion is crucial. if it is rather very unlikely to happen in the next 10 years, there is no reason to go through the roof. every opening in the roof is a potential leak.

We then pulled a 50mm empty conduit ourselves from the attic to the utility room (ground floor). Later it won't be so easy to pull cables there when everything is closed up.

Hello,

in my opinion, this decision also depends on whether the entire roof is insulated and the space underneath is developed.

If that is the case, I would have the empty conduit laid through the roof right away - however, if the (possible) attic remains uninsulated, I also recommend letting the conduit end under the roof and having the corresponding roof penetration brick provided.

Regards,

Dirk
