Buying an existing prefabricated house - is depreciation possible?

Hello everyone,

my husband likes a 15-year-old prefabricated house from the company Bien-Zenker, which has been very elaborately expanded by an architect. The house is supposed to cost 430,000.00 euros. And that is where my concerns come in. Basically, I am not a fan of prefabricated houses, then there is the age and the high price. I am afraid that if we have to sell the house again, the depreciation will simply be too great. It probably also makes sense to consult an expert. Are my concerns justified or do I still have the "old" way of thinking from back then, that prefabricated houses are simply junk.

Actually, 15 years is just settled in, not old. And a prefabricated house nowadays is no worse than a solid house. I would have no concerns. Only - 430k is ambitious. Karsten

Many thanks for your reply. Sporty is a good expression. The price also gives me stomach troubles. Certainly, the house is lovely, the garden elaborately designed, but situated in the Odenwald, which is also not exactly cheap. The real estate market is going crazy at the moment and if we didn't have to move for work, I would wait. At the moment, only junk properties are being offered at a high price.

Well, this is certainly not a junk property... just the price... but many people build in your area for 400 plus and find that completely normal. Karsten

430k is only the house price, without the land?

This is the complete price for the house and land, just 15 years old.
