: Ok, that sounds reasonable. I don't need lab music either. If it has to be 1000%, I'll go to the live concert. :)

PS: if I play my music in the store, I'll probably get stoned. But classical music will do as well.

No. It is normal for you to put your music there. Possibly with the seller.

Oh really? And I can turn them up loud too? Ok, we'll test that, mom! :o

If this is a real HiFi store and not a SaturnMediaMaxe, it’s certainly not a problem – even with “alternative” music tastes. In these shops, you just have to be careful that they don’t try to sell you gold cables wrapped in horse eyelash hair.

If you want to get some information beyond advertising, marketing, and voodoo, I recommend the website hifiaktiv by David Messinger. Warning: If you spend 1000,- euros on a turntable or 20,- euros per meter on audio cables, you better not visit the site. It might hurt. ;-)

Spotify Connect streams at 320kbps. Maybe there will be a lossless option soon, many are waiting for that. But I probably couldn't hear a difference. My whole setup with 2 Canton floor-standing speakers and receiver cost about 1200 euros.

Honestly... there is an expert electronics store about 40 km from here. they have a corner with some HiFi. two or three systems, ready for testing. a Yamaha, a Sony surround system, one from Marantz. I had my CD with me. it was no problem to listen to it. connecting other speakers also worked. but the selection was really rudimentary. in a big city like Leipzig you can find better. want to bet?
