Hello,

I am planning to extend the house of my parents, and now my question is: How am I allowed to build onto it? Am I allowed to build higher than the existing house without causing any problems? I already have a preliminary building permit, but I want to build higher or raise the attic so that it can be used. Is that possible???

Best regards

what is a "temporary building permit". i assume there is something like a development plan, and if not, you have to submit a plan that must be approved. i can hardly imagine that you are simply allowed to build higher

So that means the mayor, the municipal council were there and I explained what I want to do and they said yes that I am allowed to do that and that it is no problem if I start there so I do have a verbal agreement but nothing more.

It is like this, my parents' house is there and I want to build onto it and only make the wall higher so that I can use the attic. This makes no sense because with us the developed building plots are not sold and so no one gives a building plot. So building at my parents' place and seeing that I make the best out of it and that only works if we build higher.

No idea what is allowed with you and what is not, but never without written consent :)

Hello,

so, so Bogen - is a lovely area; I have relatives in Neukirchen and occasionally get to visit beautiful Bavaria :-)

Whatever the mayor has told you verbally - do not take him at his word before you have the written approval from the building authority responsible for you in your hands. If there are any issues, you should probably remind him of his bold statements :-)

Find an architect you trust - you will also need a surveyor for the preliminary site plan. Then, together with the architect, prepare the future floor plan and afterward the building application, and then it’s a matter of waiting.

Nothing else will work!

Best regards

Thank you for the answers, yes Bauexperte I know Neukirchen very well, it's nice ;) that there are so to speak half Bavarians ;) from my area. Yes, I will definitely do that with an architect, is there also the possibility to get a non-binding offer???
