That’s another issue; you simply don’t get one.

Very difficult situation: - Without jobs on site no credit. - Without being on site no cheap land. Only the leftovers that make it to the online portal. Do you have family and friends in Leipzig who can find a plot for you? I find it very positive that you apparently can save a lot of money. From July 21 that would be almost €150,000.

a) I would start the family in Switzerland, that is the first child there, save 4500 per month for 3 more years. Instead of 150, that makes 300 TE equity. Then build a house tied to a developer, after moving in you can "add" the next child. With the extra equity you save 10 to 15 years of repayment with the German income and get credit more easily and cheaply.

b) Meanwhile, with the equity, currently seize the opportunity of an offer for a plot not tied to building obligations/developer, possibly finance independently and continue to build equity and plan in Switzerland. The construction supervision in Leipzig in your last year in CH can also be done by an external person for you. If no plot is found by then, go to a)

Having a child in Switzerland is not worth it, as with the loss of income from my wife, nothing can be saved anymore. Switzerland is by far not as child-friendly as Germany, and without family nearby who can partially take care of the childcare, it is extremely difficult.

Waiting forever with the child is also not an option for my wife.

After my training 8 years ago, I immediately earned 36,000 gross. After 6 months, we moved to Switzerland, where I have now almost doubled my starting Swiss salary. So I don’t believe that I would only get 42pa.

We have basically already secured financing of 480,000. The interest rates are not the best, but we are only committing for 5 years and then will reassess the situation. If I’m lucky, I can continue my current job remotely as a freelancer, which would make it super easy. However, freelancers do not get loans, so we would have to finance now to keep this option open at all.

Believing is not knowing. What do the recruiters say about prospects for you? What does the market in Leipzig offer?

Well, hope dies last. One can actually only advise against an endeavor that stands on such shaky grounds. We had only seen it with friends about 2 years ago. Also credit from Switzerland at very bad interest rates - then they needed more money, that didn’t work. Earnings together over 200 in Switzerland, here under 60... all on the edge, too many unknowns. And they even already had a property.. If you start looking now, with luck you’ll find something in 2-3 years. But it’s also understandable that you don’t want to accept it when someone chats such things on the Internet. Therefore, at least the advice, first find a fixed property before you speculate and even take out a loan.
