Hello,
We work with both aerated concrete and hollow bricks; we let our clients choose. With one exception – from seismic zone 1 onwards, we only use hollow bricks. They withstand vibrations caused by earth movements better than aerated concrete.
However, I have also seen – most recently on a construction site in Rommerskirchen, also seismic zone II – that the competition uses aerated concrete as well. Whether a higher density is decisive here, I cannot say. Our architects all dismiss aerated concrete when it comes to seismic zones.
Rhenish regards
I couldn’t quickly find an overview of stones compatible with seismic zone 2, but I am specifically interested in whether a 36.5 cm Ytong is suitable or not.
