Just for the stones alone, you’re already spending around +/- €800 with your construction method. Without concrete, without reinforcement.

Hello RobsonMKK

correct.
But formwork also costs money. And as a layman, constructing formwork to build a retaining wall like that is not that easy.
The cost of concrete (if mixed yourself) is not that much. I estimate that 4-5m³ of concrete fits into the formwork blocks. The m³ of concrete gravel costs about 20 euros. And reinforcement should be sufficient with 100 euros as well.

We have now received an offer. For 2000€ we get everything. Reinforcement is very cheap at 40 euros. Concrete for the foundation (8cbm) 500 euros. The stones hit hard. 1400 euros. They charge 3.6€ per stone. Where could I get stones cheaper that are also any good?

Well, OBI and Bauhaus sell them for 2.70. But then the stone is not yet with you. And since you need more than 10 pieces, car transport is probably out of the question. If they now charge 100,- for delivery, you quickly reach the 3.60 of your offer. You could rummage through Ebay Kleinanzeigen again, but there the transport problem also needs to be solved. Betonwerke Nord, for example, charges 4,- per stone free construction site when taking a pallet, 44 pieces or a multiple thereof. Thus, the 3.60 does not seem excessively generous. Karsten

Hello Evolith

that is really very cheap. Actually for a frost-proof founded foundation and a 1 meter high retaining wall. and all completed?
With 8m³ of concrete and an area of about 12m², that would mean that the foundation is about 66cm thick. That’s substantial. I would do it at least like that too, but with a company and at that price.
Which stones were specified? And in what dimension?

Try the material rather at the next building materials dealer such as [Bauking]. You often get better prices there and delivery is usually not expensive either.
