... and if glass blocks "could be permissible" I would be interested in WHY? The BayBo does not refer to any specific material anywhere. The word "glass blocks" does not exist in the BayBo. The partition wall must be "fire-resistant," i.e., F90, how I achieve that is up to me. Glass blocks are probably F90. The BayBo literally states that "(9) In inner firewalls, fire-resistant glazing is only permissible if limited to the number and size required for use." So why does the BayBo mention "inner firewalls" and not generally all (including outer) firewalls?

Have a look yourself under fire protection, boundary development. I am on the go myself without time.

BayBO § 28 Sentence 2 "Firewalls are required 1. as building end walls, […], if these end walls at […] the property boundary are constructed, […]" continuation Sentence 8 "Openings in firewalls are not permitted." What is unclear about that? It is clearly not an internal firewall.

Is a garage located on the boundary line, in terms of the state building code, a building or an ancillary structure to the actual building? In other words, a building in the proper sense? Only then would it have a building partition wall according to the state building code...

Now that's what I call an unusual combination.

Because preventing the spread of fire between fire compartments within the same building is a different challenge than spreading to a neighboring building.
