Now I have taken a look at the waterproofing standard DIN 18533 and it states that for pressing water, which we have, the waterproofing is done beneath the floor slab and not above it.
That suggests that it is not welded above after all.
I find that a bit annoying because I have to fully rely on the company and cannot later check if everything was done properly.
Now I am wondering whether I should still weld the slab above anyway... as additional braces, so to speak.

Are you building a basement?
This is usually constructed as a [weiße Wanne], then you don’t need waterproofing under the slab.

We also have the Schwarze Wanne and the order for us was from bottom to top 1. cleanliness layer, 2. bitumen + welding membrane, 3. insulation, 4. floor slab. Above that makes no sense in my opinion, as the water would probably also rise up in the walls if it comes through the floor slab.
