Plus hearing form and threat of a fine notice if one takes a little more time with the answers.

Above all, the helper hours are regularly requested (quarterly), so make sure to pay attention to exactly what the letter says and for which period it applies - even if you initially indicated that you do not employ helpers.

The background is that every company must insure its workers on construction sites with the BG. If Meier does not subcontract certain trades but does the work himself or hires people to do so, he must also insure them. They are his construction workers, he is the boss. Hence the questionnaire.

Hello,

exactly that is not the case. The BG charges absurd sums, it can quickly become a four-figure amount. And at the same time, the fine print states that in the event of a claim, they will pay nothing to the builder and his family. But you have to nicely pay the contributions... Sorry, that is really quite absurd!

For companies, such a BG makes sense, of course, but for private builders, in my opinion, it only serves the function of collecting money to maintain some old privileges. On top of that, they are incredibly cheeky, arrogant, and at the same time downright stupid. They sent me the same questionnaire several times with the note that I had not yet filled it out. But I already had, three times, from the second time even by registered mail... They only left me alone after I sent them the delivery receipts of the registered mail along with my announcement that I would file a criminal complaint for stalking in case of further harassment.

They were more persistent and rude than any mobile phone contract salesman in the worst times!

But for the OP:
You have to fill out the thing and you cannot avoid the "basic fee" (for which you receive absolutely no services or insurance coverage!!). If you are building with a general contractor, refer to the general contractor and that’s it. You only have to report the trades you do yourself.

Best regards,

Andreas

@andiman That's right. You can safely ignore helper hours for first-degree family members.

In the Green Forum, there were 2 cases years ago where the BG did not pay.

In the brother's case, his finger was severed and the BG did not pay; it went through several instances.

And in the second case, the father had an accident on the way to the construction site; here too the BG ignored the builders, but they wanted contributions in both cases.

After the conversation with the field service employee, I myself paid only a small contribution because only my father helped us, but there were still problems.
