I just wanted to ask what you have done now? I am currently facing the same question. We moved in 3 weeks ago, the ground floor and upper floor are completely finished but the basement (utility room, technical room, WC, party room) doesn’t even have a floor covering yet and only has the basic plaster inside. Nothing on the outside yet and I don’t even want to start on the exterior facilities.

I have reported and would always report the move-in date there. We also have nothing at all regarding the outdoor area, etc. I also received an inquiry about the driveway, as I had not entered anything there because it is not yet present. That was at the end of August. Since then, I have heard nothing more from them. Also, no invoice received. My neighbor (who moved in almost at the same time) had them come for invoice verification in December.

I also took the move-in date. Since then, it has been quiet. However, my building authority was not interested in a completion date, they don't know that. My word counts.

You have to think about that yourself.
We have already moved in and still need to do the garden.
I do everything together with my dad.
I have not yet reported finished to the BG, since something can always still happen when working on the garden (a stone falls on the foot or is cut into the hand, etc.).
And if it is still reported, it is a BG accident (and who wouldn’t want their helpers to receive the best possible care and protection).
Helper hour costs (to my knowledge about 1€), then you can calculate yourself what the protection of your helpers is worth to you. Unless you do everything alone or assign it to companies.

If you want to provide your relatives with the best possible coverage, I recommend getting an additional insurance. The BG-Bau is certainly not the right contact person/insurer for that. Corresponding stories can be found by searching on Google.
